Baby Penguin at the Zoo

The Darling Downs Zoo only got our first Little Blue (Fairy) Penguins in July and they have already bred!

We have a beautiful new baby that is getting out of the nest now and looking almost like mum (Bonnie) & dad (Willis) already.

This brings the Zoos penguin colony up to 11 animals now. Clearly they have settled in well. Some of the day they spend swimming but they also spend a lot of time in their boxes so if you visit and can’t immediately see them, come back a little later in the day.
