The setting up of the Darling Downs Zoo Species Preservation Foundation is currently being finalised with the Australian government.

The Foundation will enable animal lovers to financially assist the zoo in the work that it undertakes in breeding and holding endangered species.

The zoo robustly supports programs for the conservation of many species that are listed by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature [IUCN].

Five of those species here are Critically Endangered, five are Endangered and a further six species are listed as Vulnerable.

In addition, we support and breed many species which are very close to being listed.

All of this work is currently unfunded - the zoo pays for it out of it's own revenue.

When the establishment of the Foundation is finalised animal lovers will be able to make tax-deductible donations to help us to continue and expand this work.

There is so much more that we can do!!
