The zoo will reopen today but with some constraints.
The paths are still quite muddy and eroded and are definitely not suitable for people with mobility issues or prams with small wheels.
The Giraffe will not have access to their paddock until it dries out and is safe for them. There will be no Giraffe talk until this happens.
We have not been able to access our Bobcat contractor or get material to fix the paths due to road closures in the area and flooded quarries.
Some of our staff cannot get to work for the same reason so we will be operating at reduced capacity. We appreciate your patience.
Please check with the TMR website as to road conditions. The government is warning people NOT to be guided by social media comments - the official websites have the accurate details.
The Warrego Highway and the Gatton-Clifton Road are open as at 0800hrs Saturday 01 April. There are still some closures on the Cunningham Highway between Ipswich and Warwick although the zoo can be accessed from both Warwick and via the New England Highway from Toowoomba without problems.
